I still can't seem to lock down the speed on this platter.
After one side it is well past the 10 allowable passes/minute of the "33" or "45" on my KAB disc in.
It's always speeding up (clockwise).
Setting at 45rpm first, it's hard to lock in the speed, there isn't a lot of "room" to work with on the pot like the 33 rpm.
I guessing my motor as messed up but I checked some of the resistors awhile back after pulling them out.
I'm interested in the new motor, but have read that DC is and should be the way go with something like the Bix.
I've tried different belts, let the table warm up, and set speed with my clamp on (which seems to affect speed).
There is a darker patch (not dark but darker than the white) on the side of my platter (where the belt goes); I'm hoping the previous owner didn't get oil on it.
Maybe I should try a new platter first?
frustrated,
